The History Mystery program will return in the fall of 2021. But don't worry, there are many other Goldie's Kids Club offerings to keep young historians busy throughout the summer!
History Mystery: Live From the Museum Vault
Registration will open in late summer to join museum staff on Zoom for a virtual version of the popular "History Mystery" program. The digital format allows young historians from across the state to examine artifacts and historic images to determine how they were used and who might have used them. Sign up to become a history super sleuth!
This History Mystery program is free to attend, but space is limited and advanced registration is required. Please register by 4 p.m. on the Friday before the program. While attending this virtual program, each child (recommended for ages 8-12) must be accompanied by an adult for its duration. Not a Goldie's Kids Club member? Join today!
Investigate History Mystery Objects
Calling all history detectives! Discover unique objects from the State Historical Museum of Iowa's collection through these digital History Mystery activities. Goldie's Kids Club members will use their skills of deduction, critical thinking and visual literacy to identify the multiple artifacts (in videos and photos) and uncover their connections to Iowa history.
