The article suggests that child slave labor, and unfair compensation for farmers, are driving the industry. It also states that children are working in dangerous conditions against their will. Purchasing Fair Trade Certified chocolate would seem to be an answer to this problem, however, the article also suggests Fair Trade may not always be what it appears to be.
