After the Brown v. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, integration of public school classrooms was still a work in progress. This photo, taken 10 years after the U.S. Supreme Court ruling, showed a class in Washington, D.C., in 1964 that has both African-American and white students in the same classroom.
