The Iowa League of Cities is seeking proposals for educational workshops on topics of importance to city officials for their 2021 Annual Conference & Exhibit, which is scheduled to be held in Coralville, IA September 15-17. Their 2020 conference had been scheduled to be held in Coralville, but was moved to a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The theme of their 2021 conference is "Camp Coralville" and workshop proposals are due Friday, January 29, 2021.
If you or someone in your city, firm, agency or department is an expert on a topic of interest to city officials, please encourage them to submit a workshop proposal. Most hour long workshop opportunities occur throughout the day on Thursday, September 16 and during the morning of Friday, September 17. At least one workshop will be scheduled for September 15; this tends to be an extended workshop covering leadership themes and is scheduled for three hours.
You may submit as many workshops ideas as you are qualified to present. Acceptance of your proposal is not a guarantee you will be selected to speak at the 2021 Annual Conference & Exhibit. All materials are subject to review by League staff. Workshop proposals will be evaluated based on how the topic addresses the needs of Iowa elected and appointed city officials. Initial selections for conference workshops will be made by the end of March 2021.
