The Harpo Foundation's New Work Project Grant Awards are made to non-profit organizations in support of new work by under recognized artists 21 years or older.
Applications are evaluated on the basis of the quality of the artist’s work, the potential to expand aesthetic inquiry, and its relationship to the foundation’s priority to provide support to visual artists who are under-recognized by the field.
The foundation considers proposals that directly support the production of new work by visual artists and/or collaborative teams who are under-recognized by the field. This production may happen in the context of an installation, public intervention, residency, or exhibition.
Funding decisions are made by the Board of Directors, following review of applications by independent professional advisors. Awards are made of up to $10,000. The number of awards is determined each year by the annual granting budget. Project grant funds must be used for costs in direct support of new work by the proposed artist, including artist honorarium.
Applications open February 26, 2021 and will close April 23, 2021. Learn more here.
