During Native American Heritage Month, we invite you to an Iowa Stories online presentation called "Coming Home: Food Sovereignty and Healing Trauma," presented by Stephanie Bad Soldier Snow. She will discuss the rich cultural traditions of Native Americans, the residual impact of social injustices they've experienced in Iowa and elsewhere, and subsequent steps toward healing both historical and individual trauma.
Bad Soldier Snow is the education coordinator for Meskwaki Workforce Development and celebrates her Meskwaki and Ho-Chunk ancestry by raising awareness through social activism and advocacy. She is a trained anthropologist and cultural consultant as well as a talented singer, poet and dancer.
