Both the Old Capitol in Iowa City and the not-quite-as-old State Capitol in Des Moines echo with stories from Iowa’s past. Hear a few from Liz Crooks, who directs the University of Iowa’s Pentacrest Museums (which includes the Old Capitol), and Joan Arnette, who directs tours at the current State Capitol. Their online presentation is part of the “Iowa History 101” series offered by the State Historical Society of Iowa to commemorate Iowa’s 175th year of statehood. The event is free, but registration is required.
