Who were some of the first people to live in the land we now call Iowa? Learn more about the Native nations, including the Iowa (Baxoje), during an online discussion with Lance Foster, vice chairman of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska and author of “The Indians of Iowa” (2010, University of Iowa Press). This online presentation is part of the “Iowa History 101” series, which the State Historical Society of Iowa offers to commemorate Iowa’s 175th year of statehood. The event is free, but registration is required.
