Kristin M Roach is inviting the public to her workspace to experience the entire Backyard Ecology series of works before starting its tour around the state of Iowa and beyond. During the two day Ames Artists’ Studio Tour event, organized by the Ames Community Arts Council, the much anticipated Migration Mapping project will be unveiled. The Backyard Ecology series focuses on non-resident migratory birds and allows participants to discover the backyard visitors from the boreal forest. On display will be over 20 paintings of boreal songbirds that migrate through Iowa, 10 bird song boxes from the Library of Backyard Ecology, and Roach's newest work, Tapestry of Migration Mapping.
