Sac County Conservation Board and Sac County Conservation Foundation are looking to sponsor the painting of mural based inside the Conservation Center at Hagge Park south of Sac City, Iowa. This mural will include plants and animals native to the riparian river ecosystem of the North Raccoon River in which the park is located within. This scene will transcend between all four seasons to highlight what plants and animals can be found in different seasons.
The size of the project is approx. 540 sq feet. The walls are all uniform in height of 10 feet tall, however painting will leave a 1 foot gap between the floor and the bottom of the painting. The longest walls being 24 feet in length, the shorter at 20 feet, there are 3 windows, and 3 underlying cabinets to those windows. The Budget for this project is $10,000. Artist is responsible for materials; the space is currently painted white.
The timeline for this project is to be completed by January, 2022. Proposals need to include artist resume, 10-15 images of previous or related work, and a written proposal including timeline for the project. Artist/Artist teams can submit proposals both written and imagery, hard copy or digital.
