MdW Assembly is a platform for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Missouri artist-run projects and organizations, co-organized by representative organizations in each state. MdW Fair is working to host projects that are not usually featured in traditional art fairs. The Assembly will take place Sept. 8-11 on two floors at MANA Contemporary in Chicago, with a layout that will translate the ideas of transparency, accessibility, and exchange. Guests should expect nothing of the standard maze-like experience, but instead, an open floor plan and art booths permeated by open spaces for activations of all kinds.
