Juror Nancy Azara
November 18 – December 18, 2021
“Things are uncertain in so many ways for all of us. With this comes the unknown, with endless possibilities for new ideas. We are beginning to plan ahead, form bonds again and to be in community. It gives us strength and power. To be present together gives us hope to plan for the future, towards a better future.”
Nancy Azara is an artist and feminist educator best known for her large-scale wood sculptures and mixed media collages. Her work is found wood, carved, ornamented and mounted. Upcoming: a solo show at A.I.R. Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (Jul 2 – Aug 1, 2021). She is the author of Spirit Taking Form: Making a Spiritual Practice of Making Art available through Red Wheel/Weiser.
