The Sioux City Art Center seeks an Education Coordinator with the expertise to schedule a variety of art classes, workshops, and programs for students of all ages, and who communicates clearly through writing and speaking to a wide variety of audiences. The Education Coordinator manages all activities within the Gilchrist Learning Center, overseeing an Education Assistant and contract art teachers. Of special importance, the Education Coordinator must collaborate with the Curator to develop programs that serve as opportunities for engagement with the Sioux City community as a whole. This position requires considerable start-up energy and enthusiasm, so the organization is looking for applicants who are self-starters and motivated to take control of their duties and responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree in studio art, art education, museum education or closely related field; Master’s degree is preferred; and a record of scheduling classes or other educational programming at art venues or museums.
