Iowa Culture App

Use Iowa Culture to find art all across the state. From public art to murals to art museums, Iowa has something for everyone. Odyssey, installed near Interstate 80 in Council Bluffs, harkens back to Iowa’s agricultural heritage and greets visitors to western Iowa. Corn Parade, a Great Depression-era US Post Office mural, is a 1941 oil on canvas mural that shows pride in Iowa’s #1 crop. The MacNider Art Museum in Mason City is a city-owned museum that exhibits and interprets American art.

Art in Iowa is not limited to visual art. Local community theatre troupes, and professional theatre companies, present live theater in a variety of venues. Many of them perform in state of the art facilities, like Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls. Other theatre groups perform in renovated opera houses or theatres.

No matter where you are in Iowa, art is closer than you think. Download the Iowa Culture app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store, or use the desktop version to start exploring arts, history and culture across Iowa.
