The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will soon announce new grant funding opportunities intended to help put Iowa’s arts, culture, history, and creative sector back to work and launch innovative humanities programming.
American Rescue Plan grants are made possible by special appropriations to the department from the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities, through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
American Rescue Plan Arts Grants will be awarded to eligible organizations and individual artists. American Rescue Plan Humanities Grants will only be awarded to eligible organizations.
In addition, the department has opened an annual funding cycle of Humanities Project Grants. Humanities Project Grants are made possible by an appropriation from the National Endowment for the Humanities to the department, as its provisional state humanities council partner.
